If I accidentally triggered my TSL, can I reset it and start over?
No. Time Since Launch has a trigger mechanism that is irreversible. Pulling the pin physically alters the device, saving that exact moment forever. Prepare and think carefully before you pull the pin :)

Can I backdate my TSL?
We understand the desire to backdate a TSL, but the answer is NO.
Since TSL records the current moment in time when the trigger is pulled, there is no way to backdate one, no way to stop one once it has been started, no way to slow one down or speed one up.
Time Since Launch is a device that forever marks the moment in time when the pin was physically pulled. Think of it like proof that you were physically present at that moment. We all have epochs in our past and more to come in our future.

How do I change TSL’s batteries?
TSL ships with a long lasting AA battery made by Energizer. Energizer L91 Ultimate Lithium are fancy batteries, but readily available for purchase around the world. If and when your TSL is low on batteries, the display will indicate it’s time to change batteries long before they run out (about 6 months to give you ample time to notice). You can simply pull the aluminum caps out of the glass tube to expose the batteries, pull them out and insert your new batteries. Backup capacitors will keep the chips powered and the clock running while you swap in a fresh set of batteries without losing time. (more details on Energizer Ultimate Lithium in this datasheet: http://data.energizer.com/pdfs/lithiuml91l92_appman.pdf)

What happens if the batteries go completely dead?
The batteries are hot swappable, so as long as batteries are changed when the display indicates low batteries (every 20-40 years), TSL won’t lose count.
In the unlikely event that the batteries and the backup capacitors completely drain out, your TSL will lose count and will need to be serviced.
We can revive it with a special device to reprogram the chip to the current time. It then reads the launch timestamp that was burned into the chip when the pin was pulled and displays the appropriate time again.
We will have several of these devices scattered around the world in trustworthy hands, so the longevity of your TSL isn’t dependent on just us.

Can TSL display years and months?
The number of days vary from month to month and we have leap years, so we decided to go with days, which are consistent with hours, minutes, and seconds.

Can the pin go back in to serve as a roll stop?
Yes. Once you launch, you can re insert the pin and the clock will keep running. The pin serves as a little kickstand.

Will TSL last for 2738 years?
There are many possible ways TSL will fail over a long duration (electronic failure, dropped into a black hole, run over by a steam roller), but it will most likely outlive you.
Electrical components are generally rated to last 25-100 years. Their failure is generally caused by environmental conditions, so we’ve sealed the electronics in an air tight borosilicate glass tube to shield it from moisture, dust, and sudden temperature changes.
We don’t know for certain how long TSLs will go for, but we’re aiming for 1000 years.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
